I Owe Him My Life
While I never had the opportunity to meet Srila Bharati Maharaja while he was in his manifest pastimes here, I owe him my life. Because of his causeless mercy, I am now an initiated disciple of Srila Bhaktivedanta Madhava Maharaja and an aspirant for the foot dust of the Vrajavasis and service at the Lotus Feet of Sri Sri Radha Krishna. When I moved to Long Beach, CA, I was fortunate to become friends with Deva Mayi a disciple of Srila Bharati Maharaja. Deva Mayi and I were in the same social circle but did not become close friends until she discovered I was struggling to become vegetarian. She treated me to lunch at Veggie Grill and told me the most amazing stories about God that I had ever heard. I agreed to visit the Bhagavad Gita Museum in Los Angeles with her. And while it would take several more years before I made good on my promise, when it finally happened in February 2018, I was utterly captivated and haven’t looked back since. I’m also so grateful for Srila Maharaja’s incredible work to preserve and share the lives of Vaisnavas. Their stories give me hope and encouragement. I read his wonderful book My Beloved Masters all the time. I love and appreciate Srila Bharati Maharaja and still feel his mercy daily. Srila Bhakti Vijnana Bharati Maharaja ki jaya.
